La Cicala di Italia by Nipaporn Baldwin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
As a series of short stories this book works very well. There is some unity in the stories and it helps to bring the seemingly random stories together. You do have to keep your mind open as it is written in free verse poetry in parts and prose in others. It likens itself back to the ancient epics of Greece and Rome. Also you have to remind yourself of the overarching story as the seemingly random side plots may not show right away their relevance but it is there. As this is the first I am excited to read further and see how the story develops. I hope that more information is given about the dragon and their technology, because a lot of the technology is seen but little is explained. All in all a very good Anthology and I hope to enjoy many works from this author.
